More Darfuri students dismissed from Bahri university

Khartoum’s University of Bahri dismissed another 10 students from study for two years on Thursday, putting the total number of expelled Darfuri students at 33. The Darfuri had demanded to be exempted from tuition fees. In North Darfur, seven students were arrested, while their families remain unknowing of their whereabouts. The university accused these 10 of being the leaders in a riot for the exemption of paying fees for students from Darfur, in accordance with the Abuja and Doha peace agreements, the head of the Darfur Students Association, Kamal El Zain, told Radio Dabanga. All 33 students are dismissed from studying for two years. On Wednesday, the security service in Mellit, North Darfur, arrested seven university students inside a cafe. They were discussing the mass rape case of women in Tabit village, a listener told Radio Dabanga. The seven students were taken to the security’s offices in Mellit.
