Two shot in Hamidiya camp, Central Darfur
On Wednesday, two residents of Hamidiya camp for the displaced in Zalingei locality, Central Darfur, sustained serious bullet wounds. The coordinator of the Central Darfur camps informed Radio Dabanga that a group of militiamen besieged Hamidiya camp on Wednesday morning. “They opened fire on the camp, seriously injuring Abdelhamid Adam and Abdelshaafi Ibrahim.” He explained that the militiamen blocked the road leading to the southern part of the camp since Monday, claiming that one of the thieves of their livestock entered the camp. “They approached the camp on Sunday evening, and started shooting into the air.” The camp leaders immediately notified Unamid about the incident on Wednesday, he said, holding the Sudanese authorities responsible for any attack on the camp.
