Dozens injured as Sudanese students clash
Dozens have been injured in a clash between students of the University of El Damazin in Blue Nile State. Several students were arrested.
Gasim Yagoub Ahmed, head of the Darfur Students Association at the University of El Damazin told Dabanga that “one of the students of the National Congress Party (NCP) used racist abusive words against one of the Darfuri female students in a discussion corner. The Darfur Students Association raised a complaint to Student Affairs demanding the student be held accountable and apologise to the female student and the people of Darfur. However no response to the complaint was forthcoming, which prompted the students of Darfur to raise the issue in a discussion corner.”
