South Kordofan towns shelled, Darfur displaced continue protests
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) today launched attacks on three main South Kordofan towns, in an attempt to stop the election in the state. In Darfur, anti-election protests continued in a number of camps for the displaced.
The seven missiles fired by the rebel forces on the South Kordofan capital, landed in different parts of Kadugli, but did not cause any losses, a spokesman for the government said. Three of the missiles did not explode.

El Hadi Mohamed Ahmed, a spokesman for the National Election Commission (NEC) in Habila locality, South Kordofan, reported that the SPLM-N carried out three attacks on Habila town to obstruct the electoral process. It was decided to close three polling centres in the area close to the town.
An attack on El Abbasiya town was repelled, El Hadi added. He stressed that the voting in South Kordofan takes place in a “stable atmosphere”, except for the seven constituencies in which the NEC decided to postpone them for security reasons.
Darfur
The displaced in various Darfuri camps demonstrated against the election for the third day in a row today (Tuesday).
In Ronga Tas camp, Central Darfur, Kalma camp in South Darfur, and the Kabkabiya camps in North Darfur, people marched inside the camps, waving banners and chanting slogans like “Down, down with the military rule”, and “Al Bashir to [the International criminal Court in] The Hague”.
