‘No talks with terrorist movements’: Sudan govt.
The Sudanese government refuses to restart negotiations with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) on the basis that it is a terrorist movement.
Assistant to the President, Dr Ibrahim Ghandour, told reporters in Khartoum on Friday that the government will only talk with the rebels if they abandon their terrorist approach.
He further stressed that the government will not participate in any preparatory meeting for the National dialogue in Addis Ababa with the armed movements, without the attendance of members of the National Dialogue Committee.

Mubarak Ardol, the spokesman for the SPLM-N negotiation team, told Radio Dabanga in response that Ghandour is “not qualified to speak about terrorism, as the regime he is belong to, the creator and sponsor of terrorism, locally and regionally”.
He stressed that the allied rebel movements insist on a “serious dialogue that addresses all the real issues, without excluding any party”.
