Villagers wounded in grenade blast, Central Darfur
Eighteen people got injured in a grenade explosion at Hillet Osher village, Central Darfur, on Tuesday.
The details of the incident return to a dispute between the bomber, named Youssef, and his wife’s family to whom he came from Um Dukhun at night in order to take her home. The village is 800m south of Um Dukhun.
Witnesses added that Youssef got into a heated discussion with his wife’s family and the residents of Hillet Osher, who then decided to tie him with ropes. Youssef threw a grenade at them, causing the injuring of eighteen people, including family members of his wife and residents of Hillet Osher.
The eighteen victims have been taken to a hospital for treatment.
Afterwards, Youssef fled to Sareifwa in Chad, and the witness reported he lives there now.
