South Darfur displaced ask to expand health services
The displaced people in camp Otash in South Darfur have appealed to the camp’s health authorities to increase the number of patients they receive at the health centre, and provide them with health services and medicines.
An activist told Radio Dabanga that the only health centre in the camp is receiving 50 patients a day. The activist asked to increase this number so that all patients can see doctors.
On the other hand, Sheikh Adam Tabeldiya of camp El Salam in Nyala said that the camp is lacking the basic health services. He explained to Radio Dabanga that sometimes, emergency cases occur in the camp. However, there is no ambulance to save patients whose conditions amount to critical stages. This leads, Tabeldiya claimed, to frequent deaths.
He appealed to the health authorities to provide an ambulance to the camp so as to serve the patients better.
