Statistics show that between 1975 and 2009 about 11 million Sudanese left the country. 85 percent of them emigrated after President Omar Al Bashir took power in a military coup in 1989.
Sudan ranks first among Arab countries whose citizens emigrate, according to a survey conducted by the Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies in Doha in 2013.
