Sudanese merchants fined for ignoring Friday prayers

On Monday, the Omdurman Criminal Court sentenced 30 merchants to a fine for not closing their shops during Friday prayers.
The Community Security Police carried out a raid at the Omdurman Grand Market on Friday, and detained 30 merchants who had not closed their shops during the midday prayers.
Each of the convicted shop-owners has to pay a fine of SDG1,000 ($164).
