Darfur rebels claim another victory in Jebel Marra
The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdelwahid El Nur (SLM-AW) claim to have killed nine government troops in the southern part of Jebel Marra on Friday.
Shihabeldin Ahmed Haggar, the military spokesman for the SLM-AW, informed Radio Dabanga today that the rebel fighters killed nine army and militia troops in a battle in the area near the villages of Kara and Gabo in western Jebel Marra.
He said that the government forces were defeated in the battle. “We captured a corporal called Ali Mousa Mukhtar of the 16th artillery corps, and seized two machineguns and an RPG, together with a number of small arms.”
