Mohammed Ahmed Minawi Digeish, MP for Um Baru, Kornoi, and El Tina locality, told Radio Dabanga that the attack at Donki Tema was carried out by “an unruly armed group of thieves and murderers” driving four Land Cruisers mounted with ‘Duschka’ machineguns, seven motorcycles, and 15 camels.
Yousif Bakhit Adam, Adam Ali Abdullah, and Mohammadain Ishag were killed, and Abdelhameed Hassan Saleh and Jamal Idris were wounded. The attackers made off with 2,100 head of cattle.
Digeish said that “the attackers aim to destabilise the security and stability in the region, especially since the region is free of rebellion,” and appealed to “those responsible and competent to hunt down the attackers and bring them to justice.”
Kabkabiya
Two residents of Kabkabiya camps for the displaced were assaulted and robbed on Monday morning by four militants riding motorcycles.
Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that Ahmed Ibrahim and Mohammed Saeed were on their way to El Mawashi market in Kabkabiya when the men intercepted them, beat them with rifle butts, and robbed Saeed of SDG2,000 ($330) in cash.
Adam Mohammed is in Kabkabiya hospital with stab wounds after a separate incident on Monday evening. Two militiamen assaulted and stabbed him in his mobile phone shop at El Mawashi market in Kabkabiya. They stole four mobile phones, and an amount in cash.
