Fireworks sale halted in North Darfur

The Commissioner of El Fasher locality has decided to ban the trafficking or the sale of all types of fireworks, especially during and after Eid El Adha. The decision is meant to protect children.

Commissioner El Tijani Saleh wants to ensure the safety of children, who are at risk of sustaining injuries while playing with fireworks, he said in a statement yesterday.

The childcare board's chairwoman of North Darfur, Khadija Adam Abdelmajid, has praised the decision. She explained that fireworks contribute to instilling the spirit and culture of war and violence among children.
