Youth suicides reported at Sudanese refugee camp in Chad

There is increased incidence of suicide among the youth at Djabal Camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad. One refugee at the camp said he recorded five cases of suicide this year, and explained that most suicides were between 18 and 25 years old. The witness attributed the suicides to overall economic and social problems faced by these young people. The man requested that more attention be paid to mental health and religious upbringing, and to find possible solutions to the economic and social problems faced by them.
