Young herders killed and injured after SAF shelling in N Darfur
On Tuesday three herders were killed and four were injured in Tabaldiya Dalma village, East Jebel Marra, North Darfur. According to victims’ relatives the Sudanese Air Force dropped five bombs on the area from an Antonov airplane. The bombs hit the herders as they returned home at sunset. The fatal victims are: Nona Ahmed Abaker, 11 years old, Adam Omar Abdullah, 10 years old and Rauda Adam Zacharias, 10 years old. The injured herders are: Abdullah Musa Ismail, 7 years old and his sister Um al nas Musa Ismail, 12 years old, Mariam Ahmed Omar 12 years old and Sadia Zakaria, 13 years old. A large amount of livestock was also destroyed. Residents from the area appeal to the international community to provide them protection and aid. The military spokesman from Minni Minnawi’s Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM), Adam Saleh, said the Sudanese Air Force continued with the shelling on East Jebel Marra throughout the day. He explained the bombardment is to protect government military bases in East Jebel Marra and to protect Sudanese troops from attacks from the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF). The Sudanese troops are currently traveling from El Fasher to Nyala via the main road that connects both places.
