Woman dies, children injured in Darfur artillery barrage
A woman has been killed and her son and niece left comatose after an artillery bombardment in the Deribat area of Darfur’s East Jebel Marra on Tuesday night.
A woman has been killed and her son and niece left comatose after an artillery bombardment in the Deribat area of Darfur’s East Jebel Marra on Tuesday night.
A relative of the slain woman and children told radio Dabanga that government forces based in Deribat opened fire with heavy artillery at about midnight. Mariam Yaquoob died outright in the shelling. Her son Aaron Juma Musa (8), and her niece Hawa Aaron were both seriously injured. They are both in a coma in hospital.
