WHO treats victims of attack at Hamadiya Camp, Darfur
A medical team arrived from the World Health Organization on Monday to Hamadiya Camp in Zalingei to treat 29 people wounded in the events of the 3 September, which claimed the lives of 11 people (counting those who died of their wounds in the following days). The attack on the camp was committed by a group of gunmen believed to be ex-residents of the camp, led by a man named by Al Mukashfi.

The attack on the camp was committed by a group of gunmen believed to be ex-residents of the camp, led by a man named by Al Mukashfi.The leader of Hamadiya Camp said to Radio Dabanga that doctors have advised some patients to go for treatment in Khartoum, but the patients want guarantees that they will not be arrested.
In another development, a delegation from the camp was able to visit the police station in Zalingei to try to open a case against the attackers. The UN-African Union peacekeepers had to provide an escort for the displaced to go from the camp to the police station and to return, for fear that they would be attacked on the way.
