White Nile parties demand release of Sudan politicians
Members of the Islamic Ansar movement and the National Umma Party (NUP) in White Nile demanded the release of the party’s vice president, Dr Maryam El Sadig El Mahdi, and the head of the Sudanese Congress Party (SCP), Ibrahim El Sheikh, in a memorandum which they handed to the presidency of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) in Kosti on Thursday. Essam Mohamed Abdelrahman, one of the leaders of the Umma Party in Kosti, told Radio Dabanga that a group of leaders of the Ansar movement and the Umma Party handed the memorandum during a demonstration in Kosti. He stressed that the Ansar and the Umma Party in White Nile are supporters of the Paris Declaration as a solution to the country’s crisis.
