The rate of illiteracy in West Darfur has reached 45%, according to the Minister of Education of the state. Minister Abdulla Khamis also announced that the rate of shortage in primary school teachers has reached 60% and the shortage of high school teachers has reached 27%.
Dr. Farah Mustafa, the Minister of General Education in the Government of National Unity, is visiting El Geneina. He has pledged to work to solve the problem of shortages and support the educational system in West Darfur.
