West Darfur doctors strike
Medical doctors in West Darfur state decided to embark on a strike on Tuesday, against the deteriorating services at the government-run hospitals. They demand an increase of their allowances as well. “The doctors submitted a memorandum to the West Darfur state’s Ministry of Health and the directors of the hospitals about the deterioration of services and deficit allowances,” a striking doctor told Radio Dabanga. “We did not even receive a reply, so we decided to strike on Tuesday. Officials of the Health Ministry and the hospital directors reacted by inviting a delegation of medics for a meeting to discuss the matter”, he explained.
