West Darfur camp lacking water and medicine
The Abu Sarooj internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in West Darfur is enduring a lack of water and health care as a result of the organisation Medair being forced to leave the camp. A female camp resident said the water pumps and tanks stopped working and medical treatment ended once the organisation left. She explained that the Health Unit at the camp only gave prescriptions for IDPs to go and buy their medicines from the pharmacy, but said people at the camp do not have any money for medicines. The resident asked what she was expected to do in this situation, to only rely on local herbs or wait for other solutions.
