Water close to running out in Ardumta camp
Leaders of Ardumta camp in West Darfur have warned against the near collapse of water facilities. There is a lack of fuel to keep the pump working and workers looking after the pumps have not been paid for a while and are striking, said a camp leader to Radio Dabanga. They are facing stark shortages of water since a Canadian organisation withdrew from the area last December. The pump operates only for one hour a day instead of the usual six, added the leader. He warned that the water pump is at risk of stopping completely if local authorities do not move to fix the problem soon.
