‘War crimes of Sudan regime need further highlighting’: SPLM-N
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) has stressed the importance to “expose the crimes of the Khartoum regime and its violations of human rights in all parts of Sudan, especially in the war zones”. In a statement issued after the conference of the SPLM-N Leadership Council held in the rebel-held areas in South Kordofan, convened between 31 March and 4 April, the Movement said that “the escalation of the attacks by the Rapid Support militias, the systematic attacks on civilians and the continued air raids on Darfur, the Nuba Mountains and the Blue Nile, the blockade of the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the banning of international relief organisations are to be considered as war crimes that need further highlighting.” “The schemes of the Khartoum regime and its partners, lining up with it on a religious, geographic, and ethnic basis are harming the future of Sudan”. The SPLM reiterated its refusal of partial solutions for the armed conflicts in Sudan, stressing its adherence to a comprehensive solution as the only option.
