W. Darfur announces new school year, admits short 8000 teachers
The Minister of Education in the state of West Darfur, Abdulla Mohammed Khamis, announced the beginning of the new academic year with the opening of all the primary and secondary schools in the different parts of the state. The minister revealed a severe shortage in teachers, with the state needing more than twelve thousand teachers and having only four thousand at hand. The minister also stated that most of the schools are built using local materials and they need a lot of improvement from the central government in order to be improved to be a suitable environment for teachers and students.
