Village in S. Darfur attacked, causing displacement to Kass
One woman was killed and two others injured in an armed attack on a village west of Mertuga west of Kass. Many have fled from the village to Kass town.
The village, located about 15 kilometres from Kass, was looted and the market was plundered. One of the wounded was a policeman. A government official in Kass, the comissioner Ismail Yahia Abdullah told Radio Dabanga that the police confronted the attackers.
Reports from the region indicate that some 240 families have fled the attack and are now in Kass. Sources in the city said that the newly displaced people are homeless and living in the streets.

He said that those who arrived at Kass are a few of the women and children who were being hosted by the Federation of Workers of the locality and the Zakat Chamber, which gave them food and drink.
