University student killed during protest in Kordofan, Sudan
Police yesterday allegedly opened fire on a peaceful demonstration at the University of Dalang in South Kordofan, killing Sa’eed Hassan, a student at the Faculty of Community Development. Three others were wounded. The students were protesting an earlier raid on a dormitory by masked men who had beaten some students. According to a source who spoke to Radio Dabanga from the University of Dalang, the university’s administration has suspended studies indefinitely.
