The police officers, part of a formed police unit, were on an UNAMID bus when it came under attack at approximately 22:00 hours, roughly one kilometre from the Mission’s base camp in the East Darfur state.
The peacekeepers are currently receiving medical treatment at UNAMID’s hospital in Nyala, South Darfur.
Since the beginning of the year, hostile incidents have left five UNAMID personnel injured and one killed.
