UNAMID confirms peacekeepers gone missing in N Darfur
UNAMID issued a statement today confirming that two peacekeepers have gone missing from Kabkabiya, North Darfur, on the 20th of August. The statement pointed out that UNAMID and the Sudanese government are investigating the case. Further details will be provided once available. Radio Dabanga reported about the abduction of the two UNAMD soldiers this Monday. Radio Dabanga was informed that masked gunmen, wearing military uniform, forced the soldiers into their vehicles at gunpoint and drove them to an unknown destination.
