UNAMID assists with preperations for Darfur-Darfur conference

The United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) will start transporting participants of the Darfur-Darfur conference from around Darfur to El Fasher on Saturday, Taj Al-Din Bashir Nyam, DRA Minister of Reconstruction and Development, told Radio Dabanga.
The conference is supposed to attract popular, political and diplomatic support for the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD). The conference will be attended by officials from the Darfur government, the Darfur diaspora, community leaders and political parties. The Darfur-Darfur Conference will be staged under the auspices of UNAMID, the African Union and the State of Qatar. Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, Vice President of the Republic of Sudan, will give an opening speech at the conference.
