Umma Party demands dismissal of Commissioner of Buram, South Darfur

The National Umma Party (NUP) Secretary-General of Buram, South Darfur, has demanded the dismissal of the locality’s Commissioner, condemning the deterioration of the services in general and the provision of electricity in particular. “One of the most urgent problems facing the locality is the high cost of electricity. The price of a kilowatt has risen to SDG2 ($0.35), which means that Buram has the most expensive electricity in Sudan,” the NUP Secretary-General of Buram locality in South Darfur, Amar Jibril Hamid Ombadi, told Radio Dabanga. “We hold the Commissioner responsible for the worsening living conditions in Buram.” The NUP Secretary-General denounced the “terrible deterioration” of the services in general. “Civil servants never receive their salaries on time. A delay of two months has become usual.
