Umma parliamentary candidate disappears

The National Umma Party announced the disappearance of its candidate for national parliament from Kassala, Ibrahim Mohamed Nur el-Sheikh, in mysterious circumstances yesterday.

Hassan Awad, party secretary of Kassala State, said that there are fears that we was arrested outside the state for reasons related to disrupting the election. The party said that state police have begun an investigation to search for him.
