Two IDPs killed in clash over Doha at Hamadiya camp in Zalingei
Two residents of Hamidiya displaced camp near Zalingei died in fighting over whether to participate in the Doha peace process. The men died after a failed assassination attempt targeting Zakaria Harun, the leader of the youth of the camp. The coordinator of Zalingei camps told Radio Dabanga that supporters of the Doha negotiations plotted the assassination attempt. Two gunmen who tried to carry out the attack on the youth leader were attacked by opponents of the Doha process. They were beaten to death with sticks.

He said that the displaced people came out in a demonstration to protest the assassination attempt against the youth leader. In the process they captured four alleged plotters, including a woman, and handed them over to UNAMID police. The camp coordinator accused the National Congress of destabilizing the camp and giving some of the displaced people weapons to create chaos.
Delegates from IDP camps in Darfur were invited by the government of Qatar to participate at a civil society forum held this month in Doha. Threats of violence against returned delegates occurred earlier this week in Kalma camp.
