Two Habaniya killed in East Darfur tribal strife
Two Habaniya tribesmen were shot dead in a clash that erupted with members of a Rizeigat “rescue team” in Bahr El Arab locality on Monday.
Speaking to Dabanga, an eyewitness reported that Habaniya members stole 57 cows and four camels from a Rizeigat owner.

Speaking to Dabanga, an eyewitness reported that Habaniya members stole 57 cows and four camels from a Rizeigat owner. The Rizeigat then formed a team that pursued the thieves.
“When they found the stolen livestock, fighting broke out in which two Habaniya were killed. This led to large crowds of tribesmen from both sides being mobilised in the area.”
He called on the authorities and leaders of the native administration to intervene, disperse the militants, and contain the situation.
