Two children seriously injured in rogue bull attack
Two children from Tom Kittr internally displaced persons camp in Mershing, South Darfur were injured yesterday when a rogue bull attacked. A relative of one of the children told Radio Dabanga a herder traveling on a camel was passing by at 9.00 a.m. leading cattle to the market in Mershing through the camp, when a bull suddenly attacked a group of children that were playing. Mutasim Adam Suleiman, 9 was seriously injured in the neck and arm and Abdullah Ibrahim Busher was left with injuries to the face and neck. Both were were taken to the hospital in Mershing for treatment. Citizens reportedly tried to stop the herder but he responded by firing shots into the camp. The source said people ran back inside their houses.Camp residents reported the incident to the police but they refused to respond.They said that this is not the first incident where traders led their livestock through rather than around the camp.The police said they will catch the traders next time they travel through the camp.
