Two children injured as fire breaks out in West Darfur camp
42 houses burned to the ground in Murnei camp, while two children sustained injuries.
A massive fire broke out in Murnei camp in Kereinik locality, West Darfur, on Thursday, which injured two children and destroyed the full contents of 42 houses, including food items and agricultural crops.
One of the sheikhs of the camp told Radio Dabanga that the fire broke out in El Jebel district, in the eastern part of the camp, at 3 pm. Two children were burnt.
He added that the affected families are currently living in the open without food or cover after the fire destroyed their homes and properties.
The sheikh appealed to the authorities and organisations to speed up the provision of assistance to those affected families.
