Three students injured, five arrested in fight at University of Nyala
Three students were injured yesterday alongside a member of the university guards, in fighting between student political groups at the University of Nyala. Five students were later arrested. The fighting took place between students belonging to the Democratic Front and other students belonging to the Islamic movement The injured were taken to Nyala hospital for treatment, according to a source in Nyala. One of them was in critical condition, urgently needing blood transfusion. The source pointed out that the student Saleh Nikruma was taken to the security service’s premises in Nyala. The others arrested included three from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine — Nizar Makki, Abdelbagi Mohammed Abdelkafi, and Mohiuddin Saleh – and Mohamed Abdel-Rahman Al Jili from the Faculty of Economics. The source said the clash occurred because of a dispute over wall posters. One of the injured students described his condition to Radio Dabanga from the hospital conditions.
