Three-day march for hijacked passengers in Darfur
A commercial vehicle carrying 13 was hijacked in Central Darfur on Sunday, leaving the passengers, who included three women and five children, to walk for three days. The coordinator of the Central Darfur camps told Radio Dabanga that the Toyota was en route from Hamidiya camp to Kabkabiya in North Darfur. Four militiamen ordered the driver to accompany them to the Afon mountains in southern Kabkabiya locality. “They then stole all the luggage, mobiles, and the money in the possession of passengers, who are all displaced. They tied them with ropes on the ground and fled.” The coordinator said it took the displaced three days to return to the camp on foot.
