Thirteen people died, including two children, and dozens sustained injuries in two separate traffic accidents in North and West Darfur on Thursday.
In North Darfur, five people died and 39 others sustained injuries. A tourist bus of El Sadaga company collided with a truck in the Western Ingas Road at Umel Hussein area in El Kuma, North Darfur.
In West Darfur, eight people died and others sustained injuries when a vehicle overturned on its way from Zalingei to El Geneina on Wednesday. The accident happened in Murnei area.
Among the dead were two children, two women and four men.
It is noteworthy that many traffic accidents in Darfur are caused by the poor roads in the region. Several years ago, bus drivers contacted by Radio Dabanga commented that most of the highways in Sudan are badly maintained, and need to be widened.
