The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) claims to have killed ten army and militia troops in South Kordofan on Tuesday.
Arno Ngutulu Lodi, the spokesman for the rebel group, announced in a press release on Tuesday that SPLM-N fighters attacked the garrison of Kohliyat, 5km west of South Kordofan’s capital of Kadugli.
The rebels caused heavy losses to the garrison, in lives and equipment, he stated. The government forces fled, and left the ten dead behind.
Lodi stressed that the SPLM-N “will continue to defend civilians, and support the ousting of the National Congress Party regime, in order to rebuild the Sudanese nation on a new basis”.
