Sudanese security confiscates newspaper, halts distribution of another
Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) confiscated Sunday’s print-run of El Jareeda newspaper. They also stopped the distribution of El Taghyeer newspaper after printing on Saturday without giving reasons. The National Consensus Forces (a coalition of opposition parties) have called the Sudanese people to boycott El Sahafa newspaper after “it has been taken over by the National Congress Party. It is violating the sanctity of receiving and disseminating information, besides fabricating information to weaken confidence in the opposition – which is inconsistent with the ethics of journalism.” File photo: sudanesecartoons.blogspot.net Related:Mass arrests, newspaper confiscations continue in Sudan (6 October 2013)
