Sudanese relief items ‘in storage’ in South Kordofan
The relief items sent by the Khartoum Civil Defence Department to the victims of the heavy rainfall in Abu Jubeiha have reportedly been placed ‘in storage’.
A South Kordofani activist informed Radio Dabanga on Sunday that the Khartoum Civil Defence Department sent 1,000 tarpaulins and 150 tents to Abu Jubeiha two weeks ago.
“The authorities deposited the aid items in warehouses without any justification,” he said.
“About 180 families lost their homes because of the rains. They have been living in dire humanitarian conditions for a month.”
He appealed to humanitarian organisations to intervene, and distribute the tarpaulins and tents to the flood victims.
