Sudanese herd boy ‘torn to pieces’ by grenade
A 12-year-old cow herder was killed in South Kordofan on Tuesday morning, after militiamen tossed a hand grenade at him. A relative of Hillat Borno told Radio Dabanga that the militiamen, driving two vehicles, attempted to steal cows from the herder. When he refused, they threw a hand grenade, which “tore his body to pieces”. The source reported that the same militiamen opened fire on the driver of a vehicle belonging to one of the humanitarian organisations, seriously wounded him. They then fled. File photo
