Sudanese health minister acknowledges ‘2,500 child deaths this year’
The Sudanese Health Minister has acknowledged the death of 2,500 children this year and confirmed the high rate of child mortality in Sudan, without sufficient effort to address the problem. Launching a national campaign to promote health care for mothers and children, Sudanese Health Minister Bahr Idriss Abu Garda underscored that the 2,500 child deaths could have been avoided, and called on organisations to provide support to reduce child mortality.
