Sudan security ‘storms’ Khartoum university, 2 critically wounded
Sudanese security services stormed the building of the Khartoum University on Thursday evening after students locked its doors trying to prevent the second vice-president from attending a graduation ceremony. An eyewitness told Radio Dabanga the security services beat students and fired gunshots and tear gas in the air, leading to the injury of two victims, Muamar and Wifak, a female student.In addition, three students were arrested in connection with the incident involving Vice-president al-Haj Adam Youssef. A student explained his colleagues wanted to prevent Youssef from entering the university because he is “part of the power that suppresses the people of Sudan and beats and arrests students”.Photo: Khartoum University (file)
