Sudan security breaks down human rights conference in Khartoum

A press conference organized in Khartoum to discuss about human rights’ violations and the conditions of detainees in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan was broken down by the Sudanese security services on Tuesday. The head of the Sudanese Cooperation for the Defense of Rights and Freedom and the Movement for Rights (MFR), Farouk Mohammed Ibrahim, said that security forces cordoned off the movement’s office and blocked people from entering the hall. “When we asked why we were prevented from entering the office, the security officers told us that government don’t want the press conference to be conducted,” Farouk stated.
