Sudan says Heglig seriously damaged during occupation
Sudan has said that Heglig experienced significant damage during its occupation by South Sudan. Sudan’s state information minister Sana Hamad stressed that Khartoum will demand compensation for the losses caused by an ‘act of sabotage punishable by international law.’ Hamad said South Sudan destroyed a large section of a pipeline which led to all out destruction. Meanwhile, South Sudan’s army spokesman Philip Aguer said his troops were attacked yesterday as they withdrew from the area.
