Sudan President to attend Um Jaras forum in Chad

President Omar Al Bashir will travel to Um Jaras in eastern Chad to attend a forum of tribes living in border areas between Sudan and Chad. The chairman of the Um Jaras Forum’s organising committee, Hasan Bargo, announced that the Sudanese President will address a forum of tribes living in the border areas. The forum will be held from Tuesday until Saturday, under the auspices of Chadian President Idris Deby, Bargo told the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) on Sunday. Three working papers will be discussed during the forum, dealing with dialogue, peaceful coexistence, peace, security, development and transitional justice. The final recommendations of the forum’s sessions are to restore confidence in the native administration, and activate its role in reconciliation processes in order to restore peace to the border region.
