Sudan Liberation Movement-MM releases helicopter, South Darfur

The Sudan Liberation Movement led by Minni Minnawi (SLM-MM) has released a helicopter it seized two months ago.  The SLM-MM announced in a statement issued on Thursday that they have handed the transport helicopter to Unamid. They had captured the helicopter and its crew early August, after an emergency landing caused by technical problems, 50 km south of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur.On 27 August, the SLM-MM released the crew, two Ukrainians and a Sudanese, after consultations with the Dindir Aviation Company, owner of the helicopter. “After completion of investigation by the competent organs, SLM-MM decided to release the plane and handed it over to Unamid and the company that owns the plane,” stated the movement’s Spokesperson Adam Salih Abakar.
