A group of members of Sudan’s Forces of Freedom and Change announced that they will sign a memorandum on the unity of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) on October 16, during the Marches of Millions in Khartoum.

Jibril Ibrahim, Sudan’s Minister of Finance and head of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), lauded “the national accord project for the unity of the FFC” in a press conference on Monday.

He affirmed his movement’s adherence to partnership with the military in accordance with the Constitutional Document leading to the elections.

“Any disruption of the partnership will affect the stability of the country,” he said. “The turbulent security and political conditions negatively affect the economic situation.”

He pointed in particular to the impact of the continued closure of the ports in Red Sea state, and called it “a coup on the economic situation”. He explained that the movement is not against freedom and change, but wants it to go in the right way.
