Students in South Darfur’s Buram hit by power cuts

The inhabitants of Buram locality in South Darfur, in particular secondary school students preparing for their final exams, complain of electric power cuts. A secondary school student from Buram town told Radio Dabanga that the people in the locality are affected by power cuts for four consecutive weeks, especially in the eastern part of the locality. “Students, who have to study for the coming Sudanese certificate examinations, went to the electricity office where they were told that the locality still has to pay arrears of SDG150 ($26). Then they went to the locality’s Commissioner who told them, in turn, that he could not find a solution to their problems.” The students appealed again to the locality and electricity administration to solve the electricity problem as soon as possible.
