‘Student activist murdered’: Umma Party

The National Umma Party (NUP) has accused the Sudanese authorities of assassinating the head of the Kordofan Students Association.

In a statement, released on Thursday, the NUP said that El Tayeb Saleh, a student at the Sherg El Nil University and head of the Kordofan Students Association, was killed by members of the security apparatus.

“Saleh was one of the most important leaders on the list of students targeted by the security apparatus and militant students of the ruling National Congress Party at the University of Sherg El Nil,” the statement reads.

The NUP urged the police to handle the death of Saleh, who was found drowned last week, as a murder case.
